I am a Candidate for Treasure Lake Board of Directors – 2009

  • You, the Treasure Lake Members have the opportunity to elect three board members during this upcoming election.  We are faced with a very important time in the life of our Park and your decisions will impact our future for years to come.  You gave me the privilege of serving on the Board by electing me for two consecutive terms, first in 2002 and again in 2005.  During that time my wife Billie and I were fortunate to meet a large number of you and get to know you as friends. We still value those friendships.
  • Once again, several of you have asked me to get involved with the leadership of the park. Because of my belief in you as Members, and my desire to ensure that Treasure Lake has a long and brilliant future, I am presenting myself to you as a candidate for the board and I am asking you for your votes during this election.  Please get involved by voting your convictions about being represented fairly and honestly with strong committed leadership.
  • My thirteen years as a Treasure Lake Member and my two terms as a Board member enable me to understand the business needs of Treasure Lake.  There are seven Board Members who are collectively accountable for providing the right policies and procedures required for the Park’s success.  I am committed to working with each one of the Board Members on issues that matter. The Board needs to identify meaningful issues and implement worthwhile policies that benefit ALL Members.  I expect the Park Manager to manage.  Treasure Lake belongs to 7500 Members and it should be managed for the equal interest and benefit of EACH and ALL of you.
  • My Primary Focus will be on the following points.
    • Development of a financial plan that ensures Park Longevity
    • Operating the park on 6500 Membership Dues which equals $1,170,000 annually
    • Committing 1000 Membership Dues to infrastructure which is $180,000 annually,
    • Maximizing Lease Generated Revenue and apply it to capital improvement projects
    • Development of a business plan that prevents the Park from going into debt
    • Development of a Business Plan and Process that enables the Park Manager to succeed
    • Development of a Revenue / Cost accounting process for each park function
    • Dedicating ALL revenue from RV sites back into RV site maintenance and upgrades
    • Requiring Members who stay more than 126 days annually to pay high occupancy rates
    • Dedicating ALL revenue from Rentals back into Rental maintenance and upgrades
    • Utilization of  Work Campers to reduce operating cost and improve efficiency
    • Providing leadership for maintaining a Family Oriented Park atmosphere
    • Encouraging Park utilization by ALL members and their families
    • Reducing or eliminating as many of the existing general Park Use fees as is practical
    • Expecting the Board to avoid working on or supporting issues based on personal agendas
    • Development of a factual nonbiased Board’s Communicating Plan for all Members
    • Planning for and constructing a Park Veteran Memorial funded by voluntary donations

Thank you for voting, and I hope I have earned your confidence and support.
